This is our memorial for our precious baby daughter Mia Daisy McKechnie who was born asleep in
Mummys tummy on 9th June 2008 at 26 weeks. Born at The Royal Alexandria Hospital in Paisley.
Delivered by Caroline Judge who was so kind and caring, all staff on labour ward were fantastic and
helped make a tragic event a little more bearable , for that i will be eternally grateful.Special
thanks and love also to Carol Beatts, Deb McFarlane,Susan Hutchison and Irene McClure all the lovely
midwives who supported Mummy throughout the weekend you were born and afterwards too.

Taken from us due to Mummy catching and transmiting the parvo virus, i caught this infection from
our son contracting 'slapped cheek' which unless you have an immunity to this virus it can cause
stillbirth,something we were never told until it was too late.The virus attacks red blood cells in
the unborn child and causes anemia which then caused my precious Mia's heart to fail. No-one told us
how dangerous this virus can be to pregnant women,please all be aware of this so it doesn't happen
to you or anyone you know.Doctors say the risk is very low,approx 5% but i now know of 5 other
babies who have died from this virus in the last 6 months alone.
Mia was a much loved and wanted 3rd child for us and we miss her everyday. The pain is so bad some
days.Mia was buried on 13th June 2008 in a beautiful baby garden.She is with all the other babies
in their own special place,it truly is beautiful.Mia now lies with her wee friend Aimee x
Sleep tight princess and watch over us all from heaven where i know you are safe and loved by the
angels.

I just want to say how grateful and overwhelmed our family have been over the last 2 days as we have
coped with Mia's 1st anniversary of her death and her 1st birthday x Everyone who has lit a
candle,added a tribute and sent me personal messages thankyou from the bottom of my heart. It is
lovely to know that other people are thinking of my little princess xxx

Darling Mia, I am so sorry I havn't written to you properly for quite some time. I know you must know how poorly Nanny has been recently, firatly the flu and then gastro-enteritis and now to cap the lot Pneumonia. Baby I feel terrible but mostly because I seem to have no energy, not even to crawl to the computer, but today I can stand it no longer I just have to let you know how much I have been thinking about you whilst laying in bed. I have had so much time to think about things, that is sometimes not a good thing sweetheart.
You know I love you baby girl and miss you so much, please forgive Nanny for not speaking to you on your site but you know how much I talk to you sweetheart when I am in bed and sometimes just doing everyday things, you are always with me sweet angel, Nanny will never ever forget you, you are too special, we will all miss you this Christmas, it should be your first with us all, but we will all be loving you just as much as if you were here, but missing you is going to be so hard.
I am so looking forward to coming to see you in your special garden, hopefully that will be soon in the new year. I love you treasured little girl, look after Mummy I love her so much. Take care sweet baby from your ever loving Nanny xxxxxxxxxxx

Baby girl, your cousin Fearne is going back up to Great Ormond Street hospital next week and we hope that there will be some good news after possibly more tests. Can you do Nanny a big favour as you did when Fearne had her last operation at Bristol Hospital, remember you had a word with those hard working angels to help her,can you do that again little one?
Mia I so wish we could have involved doctors and nurses in some treatment to save you, but baby nobody knew you were so poorly, its the saddest thing in my life that you had no help, but rest assured if we had any idea that things were not right we would all have done anything to make things right so Mummy could have you safe and sound.
Not a day goes by sweetheart without I get so upset because you are not here and I feel so much sadness for your lovely Mummy.
I know it is a lot to ask but can you ask those special angels to keep Hannahs new baby safe, she looked so haunted when Nanny met her, how wonderful it would be to erase peoples pain, but we mere mortals here on earth have no power to do that, so lets hope they will help out again eh Mia.
Rest precious little girl knowing you are treasured by all your family and you will never ever be forgotten, I love you so much angel, sleep peacefully my love.
